Last night at a tiny church in Jinotepe, Nicaragua, an American guy (John Vaughan) with a heart full of love and compassion testified of a lifestyle he chose that was apart from God’s best for him. Then he shared how God’s grace meant that even though he live apart from God’s will that God could use him anyway when he chose to listen to God’s voice and obey. The kids were then called to the back of the service for a mini lesson on hearing God’s voice. When they returned to the front for a time of releasing prophecy, they shared pictures that they saw over people. At first it appeared that they were just imitating the example that the leader shared, but the first girl saw a mango seed over a woman’s head and said that it was green. The woman thought it was a strange picture and didn’t see the relevance. Graeme followed the girls picture with an explanation that a seed on her head might mean a new idea that God wants to grow in her. Her face lit up. The woman, Delia, explained to us after that she was praying the night before of an idea that she had and was asking God for confirmation that it was from him. She felt Holy Spirit say that she must believe like a little child to know His will for her. Many people were excited to see and hear the pictures that the children shared. After the time of prophecy, the church was being activated to pray for one another for healing and as a team we took advantage of the oppotunity to once again activate the children, this time to pray. The members of the church who had pain in their body came to the front of the congragation and then the children lined up in front of them and layed hands on them. Through the translator, the children were taught to interview the person to find out the problem, to ask where their pain level was on a scale of 1-10 and then to pray short, brief and powerful prayers, to command the pain to leave. If the pain only decreased, the children were encouraged to pray again. By the end of the prayer time, there were 5 people who testified that their pain was gone. It was so exciting for the children and the church to see God use them in such a powerful way. One of the visitors in the church that day is a children’s pastor at a large influential church in Managua. He was moved by the power of God flowing through the kids. A young woman told me that this is an unforgettable moment and it changes everything!
